My Story

Hi everyone, in addition to my recent Facebook Fundraiser that raised £1130 I have re-opened a new fundraising page as the Facebook page had a timescale on it. So here's why I am doing the Great North Run this Year and hopefully if you haven't ready donated you would like to help this amazing charity.

I will be running in memory of mine and Aprils son Reuben and our son Oliver who we welcomed into the world this May.

We sadly lost our son Reuben in Decemeber 2019 at a day old due to him having a rare condition called a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Tiny Lives were there at hand to help us through the hard times while we were still on the ward and they provided us with alot of keepsakes/keepsake box and photos which we will cherish forever.

We recently visited the ward again in May this year as our newborn son Oliver was born and he had struggles breathing as he had fluid around his lungs. The staff on ward 35 were very supportive and helped not only Oliver but me and April also as they knew it was a very hard and daunting thing to do going back to the ward where we lost our son 17 months before.

I couldn't pick a more worthy charity to run for that is so close to our hearts. So if you can help out just a little that would be amazing.

Tiny Lives offer a safety net for parents who have entered a world completely out of their control. Having a baby that is born prematurely or sick can be a truly world-shaking experience, but they can help you through it.

Tiny Lives supply items, funds, staff specialists and support to the RVI Neonatal Unit in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, helping to make the Neonatal experience a little easier and more comfortable for parents, babies, siblings and family. Once you become part of the RVI Neonatal family, you have their support – forever.

Tiny Lives an independent charity, so generous supporters are the only way they make money ad their is no government funding. Tiny Lives need to raise £350,000 a year to maintain their services.
